Full stay guestsGetting There
Kasauli is a hill station in Himachal Pradesh, about 1.5 hours from Panchkula/Chandigarh by road.
✈️ Flights
Fly from the UK to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi (DEL) and we recommend flying via Heathrow for the best direct options.
From Delhi, take a domestic flight to Chandigarh (IXC) which takes about an hour and is much easier than driving. We strongly recommend flying rather than hiring a car from Delhi.
We recommend arriving in India on October 31 to give yourself a buffer day.
🏨 Stopover in Delhi
If your flight arrives late or you'd like a night to rest before continuing, we recommend staying in Delhi Aerocity which is right next to the airport and has plenty of familiar Western hotel chains.
You can then catch a morning flight to Chandigarh the next day feeling refreshed.
🚌 Chandigarh to Kasauli
Once in Chandigarh, we recommend staying at the Bella Vista Hotel in Panchkula (a short drive from Chandigarh airport) the night before travelling to Kasauli.
We will arrange a coach transfer for UK guests from Chandigarh/Panchkula to the Santa Roza, Kasauli on November 1. The journey takes approximately 1.5 hours through beautiful hill roads.
🛂 Visas for UK Guests
UK citizens need an e-Visa for India. We recommend applying for the 30-day tourist e-Visa at indianvisaonline.gov.in. Applications open 3 months before your travel date, so apply as soon as the window opens.
You'll need at least 6 months validity on your passport. You will also need to fill in an e-Arrival Card before landing in India.
🌤️ Weather & Packing
Late October / early November in Kasauli is sunny but cool with daytime highs around 22-25°C and overnight lows of 8-10°C. The temperature drops quickly after sunset, so layers are essential.
Bring warm layers for evenings, comfortable shoes for the hilly terrain, and something festive for the celebrations. Sunscreen and sunglasses are a good idea for the daytime too.

Questions & Answers
What should I wear?
For Haldi and Sangeet, wear something colourful and comfortable (it may get messy!). For the wedding ceremony and reception - formal attire. Indian, Western, or traditional dress from your own culture are all welcome.
I've never been to an Indian wedding. What should I expect?
Lots of colour, music, food, and dancing! Indian weddings are joyful celebrations. The most important thing is to come ready to have fun.
Do I need any vaccinations?
Hepatitis A, Tetanus, and Typhoid are recommended for most travellers to India. Some travellers may also need additional vaccines depending on their circumstances. Check the TravelHealthPro India page for the full list and consult your GP well in advance, as some vaccines need multiple doses over several weeks.
Who is invited?
We can't wait to celebrate with you. Please note that this invitation is for the named guests only, as space at the venue is limited. If you're unsure who is included in your invite, please get in touch and we'll be happy to clarify.
What about dietary requirements?
All food at the wedding will be vegetarian, served buffet-style, so there's no need to choose a meal in advance. If you have any specific dietary needs or allergies, please let us know in your RSVP.
Will there be drinks?
We'll provide a drinks tab on the wedding day to get the celebrations flowing. After that, drinks can be purchased from the venue bar.
Is there Wi-Fi at the venue?
Yes, but this is a hill station, so expect it to be a bit slower than city speeds. Consider it a digital detox opportunity!
What currency should I bring?
India uses Indian Rupees (INR). We recommend withdrawing cash from an ATM at Indira Gandhi Airport when you land, as there are several in the arrivals hall. International cards are generally accepted at hotels and chain businesses, but smaller shops and local vendors tend to be cash only.
